✔️ Truth: Asbestos does not present a problem if it is in a good state of repair. It is the asbestos fibres that pose the risk to your health, so when these are intact and undisturbed it doesn’t pose a risk to you. If you suspect that your property contains asbestos and are concerned, seek specialist advice, as the asbestos assessor will be able to report the condition of any asbestos in your home. Also, if you are planning renovations or any sort of maintenance that might mean you would disturb the asbestos materials in your home, then these do pose a risk to your health, and should be removed by an HSE licensed asbestos removal company.
