Leigionella


Myth: “Legionella can only grow in dirty water or poorly maintained systems.”


Fact: Legionella bacteria can grow in clean, well-maintained systems too, especially if the water temperature and conditions are favorable (typically 20°C to 45°C or 68°F to 113°F). Even well-treated systems like hot tubs, cooling towers, and plumbing systems can harbor Legionella if there are areas of stagnation, biofilm buildup, or inconsistent temperature control.
